OUR MISSION

Our mission is to support an increase in human consciousness and encourage research that will visibly reveal our archetypal energies and structures to humans.

Here on Skyground we try to clarify the roles that we archetypes play in shaping human personalities and civilizations. We know we can all do better, creating foundations that individuate identities while retaining the fact that we are all connected.

This page is being constantly updated.  Please report inaccurate or broken links to skyground.host@gmail.com

INSTINCT: An inborn pattern of response to stimuli. Our personality archetypes are the instinctual links between mind, emotion, personality, and environment.

JUNG, CARL GUSTAV (July 26, 1875 - June 6, 1961): A Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology. He believed that the human psyche had three parts: the ego, personal unconscious, and collective unconscious. Jung studied the archetypes which he believed originated from the collective unconscious. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Jung

K

L

MIND: an organized collection of information perceived during a lifetime of experiences; the source of all thought and behavior

NEUMANN, ERICH (1905–1960): A German-Israeli analytical psychologist, philosopher, and writer, and a student of Carl Jung. <Neumann quote>: "The archetypal structural elements of the psyche are psychic organs upon whose functioning the well-being of the individual depends, and whose injury has disastrous consequences."

O

PERCEPTION: The process of seeing, hearing, tasting, and feeling, through the senses.

PERSONA: A social "mask" used to represent a particular role played in society.

PERSONALITY: A person's combined patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving in a social environment. But the foundation of personality – invisible to observation – includes many more elements and dynamics than are expressed. That is undoubtedly why there are so many different theories of personality.

PERSONAL UNCONSCIOUS: Forgotten memories and the rejected/suppressed ideas and memories "forbidden" by the social conscience.

PLASMA: One of the fundamental states of matter, first described by chemist Irving Langmuir in the 1920s.

Plasma is a conducting path within a magnetic field caused by electricity. Archetypes seem to be in the plasma state.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plasma_(physics)

"…the countless numbers of atomic ions that make up stars and their immediate environs are in high energy plasma states with rapidly shifting *self-similar* clustering."

POSSESSION: Pathological spirit-possession is not yet understood by science but is considered to be caused by past trauma.

PSYCHE: At Skyground, we add a Soul-connection requirement to the usual dictionary definition of "the total conscious and unconscious mind or personality", and to Freud's "Ego, Superego, and Id" definition, and to Jung's "Ego, personal unconscious, and collective unconscious" definition.

Q

REPRESS: To unconsciously and defensively hide certain thoughts, feelings, or urges from conscious awareness. (Also see SUPPRESS, below.)

SUPER-EGO: Mature conscience

SUPPRESS: To consciously and defensively try to forget or not think about painful or unwanted thoughts. (Also see REPRESS, above.)

SUBLIMATE: To modify or transform a negative or destructive impulse into a socially acceptable activity

SYZYGY: The combined anima and animus, or the divine couple. The syzygy represents completion, unification, and wholeness symbolizing the communication of the conscious and unconscious minds.
